| - Wow.. Great looking place. It's too bad all Goodwill stores don't look as nice as this... Apparently in the Charlotte area Goodwill sends most of their electronics over to this place called The Grid. The Grid then cleans them up and sells them. You won't find every kind of electronic here, however you will find PC's. Retro games and consoles, TV's, ipods, tablets, all sorts of accessories and lots of them, etc. Make no bones about it though, this is still a Goodwill store.
Again the store is very nice and has an excellent layout. You won't see anything about Goodwill here until you get to the register and they ask you if you want to 'round up' your change as a donation to Goodwill... Hey guess what, my purchase just donated to Goodwill so no, I'll take my change thank you very much.
So I'm here for games, and I did find a few. Nothing special, just a couple for the Sega Genesis and a Nintendo N64 game. What I couldn't understand or get over here was the pricing. Everything in this store has been donated and yet some of the prices were just outrageous for used equipment like the PC towers, and game consoles. Other prices were fine and along with what I expect when I go into a Goodwill store. However you shouldn't be charging almost normal retail prices for used equipment that is years old in most cases.
Can you find a deal here, yes you can. However you're probably going to have to root around more than you normally would, and some items you'll just want to stay away from all together. You can find the Grid on the north side of Charlotte near the university hospital.
