I do not for the life of me understand why I'm the first to review this location.
In fact, I signed up for Yelp to review this back-of-the-woods gemling. I've read many glowing reviews of Value Village branches and other thrift stores, only to be disappointed upon visiting them. The reason? This particular branch: my standards have been set too high.
Bags! Scarves! Dresses! (I'll never pay over $30 for a pretty gown again!) You see, tucked away in the hazy realm where East York approaches North York approaches Scarborough resides this particular Value Village. Like any other, you have to dig but I assure you, it's worth every minute. (I'm notorious for frequenting this place once a week, up to 3 hours at a time.)
There are good days and bad days, and even the odd days where I walk out without a purchase or five with a dejected scowl on my face.
Favourite finds include (all in mint condition):
- Steven Madden pumps ($7)
- American Apparel tees ($4)
- American Apparel skirt, dress (with tags!) ($7)
- Zara leather jacket ($25)
- Doc Martens ($13)
- Teenflo blazer ($14)
- vintage silk/leathers
Talk about thrifty gems. Never will I bother with those overpriced secondhand stores in Kensington Market and Queen West again.
