| - I highly recommend this place. You'll get three free tastings for free. But for $3 you get 5 tastings and a logo'ed wine glass to keep. Not a bad deal.
The wines are very good. They have them listed on the menu separated white/red dry/sweet, etc. If you know your tastes, it is very easy for the knowledgeable staff to steer you quickly to a suitable wine for your taste. My group had very different palates and were still able to agree on a wine that everyone enjoyed easily. Most cost $12-$16. Not bad.
I'd recommend tasting your usual red/white, and for your last taste, try one of the unique ones. I tried a holiday spice that was delicious, and would be amazing warm. There was also chocolate one that tasted like a cherry tootsie pop. Very delicious and unique!
It was a welcome surprise to see a winery with slow cooked brisket, pulled port, beef, and even pulled turkey. While the food looked very good, we had already eaten so I didn't get to try any of the grilled food. We did get the crab dip and queso con carne that was very good.
There was a very young band there playing all sorts of acoustic music from many genres and time periods. They played at a perfect volume and the two singers harmony was on point and impressive. Their skill far outweighed their years, for sure.
It is quite a trip out of the city, but definitely worth it. I will be back. The only odd thing was that you can only tip them in cash. You can buy wine with a CC, but make sure you have a few bucks to tip, they certainly deserve it.
