  • I have been coming here for years and years. Long since I was old enough to drink and gamble. The Golden Nugget was one of my families favorite places to stay, and now I can say that too. I have stayed in the every tower, except for in the Spa Tower, and have enjoyed my stay in each. The Carson tower is a bit far away from all the action, and is the cheapest of all the towers, but it is conveniently located near self parking lot, the Starbucks, and two of the restaurants- one of which is my favorite, the Mexican Cantina. We just stayed in the Rush Tower and were upgraded to a Gold luxury suite. This was perfect for our 3 day stay. It had a small living space with a couch and separate TV. The bathroom had dual sinks, and the shower had one of those rainfall shower heads. Plus the pressure in the shower was fantastic! The room itself had upgraded furniture, was super clean, and had a view of the pool area. One of the best rooms I have stayed in at the Golden Nugget. The restaurants are good. I recommend the Cantina, Red Sushi for happy hour, and the buffet for breakfast. The pool is great... if you get a seat in the sun. The water temp is always bearable, they have a few slides for the kids, and a swim area that is surrounded by the aquarium. Pretty cool! I have never been to the upper level pool area with the cabanas, but if you want something more private you should look into it. The gambling is a little cheaper than on the strip, and they do a pretty good job of rotating in new machines. The tables start at $5 for most of the games, including blackjack and craps, but eventually settle on $10 minimums. Not too bad! Golden Nugget is worth a stay if you are interested in experiencing "old" Vegas. Good luck!
