Nitrogen infused ice cream is something I had encountered previously in NY. But this seems to have been something new for the Toronto area as I noticed some serious social media posts about this establishment from some acquaintances.
The weather in Toronto that day was very very cold! Luckily I am the type of person who prefers ice cream during cold days of winter. The shop itself is decorated very nicely and there is a sitting area for those who prefer to eat in.
The process for making the treats is always fun to watch. In this particular shop they have large containers that deliver the liquid nitrogen and it is added to the ice cream mixture. This produces a smoke effect when the ice cream is served. Of course be warned the container and ice cream are freezing. On the recommendation of the cashier I chose the black rice flavor.
I then had to try the Nitrogen cheetos that creates the oft talked about Dragon's breath. They pour the nitrogen over the cheese puffs. When you bite into them smoke comes from your mouth so it gives the illusion you are breathing fire. Very cool effect.
The girl behind the register was very pleasant. I think a few customers walked in that day I was there. Since my visit to the area was short I was only able to go to Lab Sense one time. There are definitely other flavors I wanted to try.
This is a place I would visit again when I plan another trip to Toronto.
