  • Meadows Pediatric is SERIOUSLY the best place in town to take your kids. I know, because I have previously seen 3 other pediatricians in the city! The front office staff is friendly and helpful, and they always pick up the phone. You barely have time to sign in at the front desk before the nurses are calling you back into the exam rooms - unbelievable! At my previous doctor's office, I waited up to 2 1/2 hours to see the physician! And this is not because Dr. Nishihara isn't busy. Just try booking a well check - it may be a few months before you can get in, but it's worth the wait! He takes his time with every patient - never rushing through an exam. He just schedules his day to make sure he doesn't run behind. I'm glad to have a physician who values my time as much as I do. Once you're in the exam room, you are immediately seen by nurses/assistants. Your child doesn't even have the chance to get nervous before Dr. Nishihara enters the room! My son is incredibly timid and terrified of doctors, but Dr. Nishihara always makes him smile by acting silly or joking around. This office and his staff are impeccably clean. There are bottles of hand sanitizer everywhere and automatic doors so that there are no door handle germs. For my newborn son, he wiped his arms with sanitizing wipes AND washed his hands twice before examining him. At my previous pediatrician's office, there weren't even sinks in all of the exam rooms. BUT the best thing about Dr. Nishihara is his level of knowledge. He is super up-to-date on all of the new medical research. When my newborn son had a slight heart abnormality that no one could explain, he described it in a way that I could understand. He never fails to tell me exactly what is going on with my children - no beating around the bush. He's the perfect balance between careful and not being alarmist. He doesn't over-prescribe medications. He is always personable in the way he talks to me about my child. But I know that he cares more about my child's health than he does my feelings. That's the kind of doctor that I want. The kind who prioritizes my child's health and safety.
