| - I was craving some Pho and didn't have much time on my lunch break so I called Pho Da Lat since it was the closest. I called ahead and ordered the #11.
5-10 minutes they said, which was great!
Prices were about .50-1.00 higher than most of the Pho places I've been to, but that's not bad.
The broth was delicious, they were a little skimpy on the beef, but I could deal with that.
The problem and the reason for the lower rating was the fact that the host who brought my $7.00 pho to me asked if I needed change after giving him $10.00, Umm, scuse me?
I contemplated about posting this as I don't want to sound petty, but....
I always tip for to-go orders at sit-down restaurants, at the very least 10%, and round up.
But I was shocked this guy presumed I was going to tip 30+% on one item??
A little pretentious I thought. How bout bringing my change first and let me decide if I am tipping? (which I was going to, but he seemed to be petty as well taking his sweet time bringing my change to me). Sorry, but service goes right along with the food when it comes to rating, This would have been a solid 4-star.
