| - Agree with these online reviews I've read. I did my homework on everything for my new home except who was installing the security alarm. I didn't realize this was a 3rd party for ADT. Not sure why ADT still has a relationship with this company. Don't use Protect Your Home.
The phone reps don't know what they're talking about and the salesmen/installers are pushy and take advantage of situations. Long story short, phone rep advised monthly price of $23.99, even after I told him I didn't have a land line. When the installer arrived, I asked again about the phone and he confirmed the price I was quoted. After spending over an hour going over the service, and trying to upsell me a lot of stuff I didn't want, he then tells me my monthly fee was going to be $52.99. When I hesitated, he said he won't get paid if he didn't do the install. I had just moved into the house the day before and was so spent from closing and moving that I went against my better judgement and let him talk me into getting the service. Now, in the last 8 months, I've had 3 ghost alarms, all caused by the installation techs entering the wrong system code when installing new systems. Don't use the middleman. If you want ADT, work directly with them. The gift card from Protect Your Home, which actually costs shipping and handling fees to get, isn't worth it.
