Debated on deleting my original review and just going with just the new one, but I don't role like that.
Started coming to this gym about a year and half ago when LA Fitness & 24 Hour Fitness merged in AZ (prior to this I went to the 24 Hour at Mesa Riverview despite living slightly closer to this gym because that gym had lower rates and at the time I signed up no initial membership fee).
Like I said in my initial review, years ago (and from that review now we're talking YEARS ago) I used to go to this gym, and honestly I don't see where that much has changed during that time. I'm sure they've updated thing over time though. For me, this gym serves it purpose. I go early mornings when it's less crowded and the equipment I want to use is normally available. For the most part they're pretty good about maintaining equipment and things seem to get fixed pretty quickly if it breaks.
I don't take full advantage of it, but the thing that's nice about this gym is that it has a lot to offer. In addition to classes (they seem to have more than the converted 24 Hour at Riverview), and pool/jacuzzi area they also have racquetball courts and a small snackbar area.
Just a note...my car was broken into at this location. I don't place any blame on the gym itself (they were very cooperative when it happened). They do have signs in the parking lot & from what I understand it's an unfortunate somewhat regular occurrence here (at least as of last September when it happened to me). I wouldn't keep anything remotely valuable in your car when coming here.
