  • I have a mixed feeling about the service my dog received. I initially found great reviews of Dr. McPhee since I have a dog that's incredibly sensitive so I wanted to make sure that I find someone who's gentle. No doubt Dr. McPhee is incredibly nice and sweet. However, I feel that she's not quite experienced with handling troubled pets such as mine as he's very sensitive and beyond scared. My dog is quite small miniature size and I'll admit he did try to bite her when she tried to give him the needle. I felt like she was putting on a show when she put 2 masks and wore gloves like went on like she's putting on a production. The mask itself is super small and tight and it has a very small snout. It was like mask over mask and gloves like she might as well wore a protective suit it was on going. I can tell that she was putting a lot of pressure when she was giving him the needle like she's jamming it in because he was squirming like he was in a lot of pain. Mind you, I've been to another vet prior to her and he had vaccine shots with mask and no mask and he didn't even squirm or move. Only reason why we didn't go back is because we moved. I'm not defending my dog and I understand that was taking protecting herself but I felt that she was overly cautious and all those list of things were not necessary. If she's a specialist she would know how to handle all types of dogs behaviour. Instead he felt more scared and immediately she puts on all those products. The experiences there were very generic, nothing specialized. My dog has the worst experiences there. I shared this info with some vet clinics as I was looking for another one and they stated it's not necessary to go that extreme. I changed vet to Erin Mills and the vet I have seen is incredibly sweet and gentle and she knows how to handle to handle troubled scared dogs and he was a complete 180 degrees difference. My little dog is still scared but the experience was far superior and plan to stick with this place.
