  • I don't care what anyone says about "mainstream" Petsmart but this location is freaking awesome. I've been to all the Petsmarts in the area and this one is by far the best. First of all, you walk in and its got the biggest selection you could possibly imagine. Every brand of everything for every animal. I just love walking through each and every aisle looking at all the awesome stuff you could get for your pets. I have pet hamsters so I love that they carry Harry Hamster and Oxbow, the two brands I feed. However, majority of the hamster treats they carry are extremely unhealthy. This is one of the negatives of big box stores... Everything is presented to you but its really up to you to read the labels and filter through all the bad stuff. In the end, it doesn't leave much of a selection (lol) but nonetheless, I enjoy looking. The store is very clean and the products are well organized. As for the live animals, they have a big wall of fish. I've looked through this area a few times, they fish seem to be in good but not excellent condition. I do sometimes spot dead ones but not nearly as bad as PJ's. The reptile selection is rather small but their animals seem quite healthy and well taken care of, same goes for the small animals and bird section. The staff here are incredibly nice. I've always heard about big box pet stores giving out poor advice in terms of taking care of animals. I can't say how knowledgeable they are because to be honest, I kind of believe that stereotype. But once, I overheard a conversation- a customer wanted to buy some gerbils and he wanted to house them in his old rabbit wire cage (which is bad because the space between the wires of a rabbit cage is really wide thus allowing a tiny gerbil an easy chance of escape) and the staff actually denied him the pet because he told him that he needed to do more research and have proper housing before he could buy the gerbils. I think that the staff here really care about the well being of the animals they sell and they're all very passionate about animals. Most are friendly and will strike up a conversation with you. :)
