Armed with the 50% off coupon, I walked into here to buy for my nephew's birthday cake. This store is huge and filled with random and various arts and crafts. It's as if someone's toddler craft box exploded in random directions. At this moment, it's a bit of a mess because Halloween is done and all the Christmas crafts and decorations are strewn in boxes in walkways.
Compared to other Michael's, this one is actually well stocked. I've never had an issue with getting an item but I've always had issues FINDING the item. Unless it's a specific door crasher, it's a 'Where in the world is Waldo?" search. Signage is not helpful as they put items in various places. My attempts to find Crayola Dora magic washable markers led me to the crayons, markers, and pencil area. Nope no there. I go to the kids craft section... nope not there. I ask an associate (after attempting to find one for 15 minutes). I get a blank look. Ok... I finally spot it but in the hands of another customer. I ask her where she found it and she points to some obscure corner with Disney Princesses crafts. *sigh* If Dora is a princess, then I'm a billionaire.
Anyhow, the baked section here is well stocked with every colour and accessory to make your childhood dream come true. I got muffin cups with sports themes and even some muffin tins that are supposed to look like baseballs. The normal prices of these are probably the highest in GTA but with the 50% off coupon, it made it probably the most affordable.
The line up is predictably horrible and slow as most customers here are puzzled on how to use the 'new fangled' credit card machines (those were the actual words out of the older lady in front of me). You'd think they'd learn and open up more than 2 cashiers at once. It's an ok place to shop provided you're here in off hours (aka normal business office hours) and you're shopping with the coupon deals!
