My Kenmore Elite French Door refrigerator section stopped working but the freezer is okay. I called at 8:00am and was given a time slot between 9:00am-11:00am. Paul arrived at 9:30am, he did his diagnostic thoroughly, but was unable to perform any repair due to the time allotted. I told him that I cannot wait for another appointment for the next morning because all the food taken out from the freezer will be ruined. He was very nice to comeback at the end of his day and did the repair for me. He was very honest and told me that the evaporator fan, the computer board and the sensors are all okay and do not need to be replaced. It was the poor design of the refrigerator that the defrost sensor to turn on the heater to defrost was at the far end of the condenser causing the ice buildup on top of the condenser. Paul only charged me the labor to defrost the ice and the diagnostic fee. If I have the same problem over the next six months, just show him the receipt and the labor charge this time will be credited to the next repair on computer board, fan and sensor replacements. I will use Urban Appliance Repair again if I have any future repairs.
