Found Girasole on a trip with my daughter to visit Carnegie Mellon U. We loved it so much that when we returned for auditions we absolutely HAD to come back. Mussels in pesto broth were a phenomenal appetizer, and squid ink risotto with perfectly prepared, butter soft scallops was divine. Nice wine list, friendly, attentive service, great food. The restaurant is small. In the summer, tables are added outside to accomodate more diners. I will say that it was quite crowded on a very cold fall day, and there was no area to wait for our reservation, which was about 15-20 minutes late. However, the tremendous dining experience was totally worth the wait.
