| - It all began the night before when we tried to order tickets online. This week, the tickets were 50% off, and we could not purchase the tickets at half price. Arriving at the cinema, we bought tickets for "The Hitman's Bodyguard" and we were stopped by an old lady working at Cineplex. She told us that we could not watch the movie because we had two child tickets, and "the law" required us to be accompanied by an 18-year-old. A friend who had a University of Toronto ID showed them his card and was told that there was no birthdate on it, and therefore is not sufficient proof of his age. The manager, who came in shortly thereafter, informed us that there was a section of the law that states that a child under the age of 13 had to be accompanied by an adult if the movie was rated 14+. This was understandable, but when we had asked the manager kindly to find this section so that we could verify it, she refused and told us to "search it up yourself". Since she was the one who presented this, the burden of retrieving it should be on the manager, not the customer. Soon, the manager started to act very childishly and even began to ignore us, and eventually kicked us out of the theatre. The manager was overall very petty and had a horrible attitude towards her paying customers. Also bragged about her "degree", and was not acting professionally at all. She clearly has never heard of the statement "The customer is always right". Never bring your child to this abhorrent facility one calls a "cinema".
