| - This contractor or home builder doesn't know what it's doing, their homes are subpar compared to homes from other builders, like American West, DR Horton, and Richmond American Homes, some of which I've gone through, since living in Las Vegas, NV for over 10 years. The house, originally supposed to be my grandparents, which I currently live in is falling apart at the seams, cracks and holes are forming at random locations throughout the house, the garage door opening system is putting the wall that it's attached to through the ringer and for some odd reason the kitchen is located upstairs. Here's another problem with KB Homes, their communities are usually open, which means there aren't any gates that close out the outside world. Which also means that they don't have a proper HOA (Home Owners Association) attached to those communities however if they do have an HOA, most likely they would be based out of state, like how mine is, so, therefore, response time for solutions to problems that the homeowner(s) will experience will be delayed by a day or two. Another thing that KB Homes having an open community is that anybody can come into the community and trash it, however, they please, visitors can park wherever they want to park and stay however long they want.
To elaborate further with the kitchen being upstairs, KB Homes are said to be following a home building trend from the east coast and midwest, where kitchens are popular amongst homeowners where it belongs upstairs, as to it normally being downstairs of a home.
For anybody planning on purchasing a home with KB Homes, a word of important advice, DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME FROM KB HOMES! You will have headaches for days, weeks, months, hell YEARS if you ever decide to purchase a home from KB Homes. I recommend purchasing homes from builders like Richmond American, American West (if you're moving to Las Vegas) or Lennar Homes, as those builders won't disappoint you in the long run.
