  • Based on the reviews we decided to try this place since we don't live far from the restaurant. We were surprised at how small the place is, but it is a nice intimate place. We walked in on a dinner rush so had to wait. The hostess was either inexperienced or was just awkward. She didn't quite know how to address the issue of the restaurant being busy and that we had to wait, and it was almost like the more she tried to explain the deeper of a hole she dug. We almost didn't stay, but we did, and so that was fine. A table became available and instead of sitting us to the table, she went into the kitchen to grab food for tables, so that was another few minutes we had to wait. Finally sat down, and to our surprise, we only got one menu. No big deal, but it was odd. our server came over fairly quickly and took care of us. It was going well. We liked what they offered on the menu although we think they can spend some $$ to make the menu look nicer...I mean in some kind of cover would look good, instead, we had 3 pieces of paper - menu (fresh and different every day according to the server), drinks list, and I can't remember what the 3rd piece of paper was. The food was great and definitely fresh, on the saltier side so we all drank a lot of water. Service was pretty good..by this time the place had slowed down. One last thing that happened which I think would rely on the training or maybe common sense...we were going to order additional items, and our server had a couple of checks in his had to take to his other tables. Instead of attend to us (we were still in process of ordering and eating), he told us he would be back in a few minutes and went on to give the checks..one of the tables was talking to the manager while our server look on. To me, that was backwards service. He should have come to us first to see what we wanted to order so he could ring it in and then drop off the check to the tables. In this case, I believe the table that was talking to the manager had an issue or issues with food or service, and our server was there for at least 5 minutes before he was able to come back to us. I think we would give it another try before we have our final verdict of the place.
