| - I got two sushi rolls, edamame, and a glass of chardonnay for dinner and the wine was the best part. I'm normally a red wine guy, but decided to get white since I was having fish. Granted the fish was tuna and salmon so some reds would have worked, but the chardonnay seem like the best pairing to me. Anyway the wine was tasty.
The edamame was served cold as they said, which was fine with me. There wasn't much sea salt added, which again was fine with me. They appeared fresh and were crisp rather than soft.
The sushi rolls I got were the gun smoke and spicy tuna special. The crunch or almost a pop texture of the Tobiko was different for me. It wasn't bad, but not what I expected. Overall the taste was pretty good. I used the low sodium soy sauce, which I had to ask for (it really should be provided right away in my opinion) and the texture was more creamy than I expected. The creamy texture worked well with the texture of the Tobiko. The gun smoke roll was really good. The bacon topping added a nice flavor and I really enjoyed it with the wine. Both rolls came with sauce on the plate and they were pretty good. My only real knock on the sushi rolls was the that the spicy tuna special really wasn't spicy at all. I added some wasabi to get some spiciness that I wanted. Overall though the rolls were good. I'd say on par with Red, but the Tobiko, bacon, and wine gave Restaurant Muramoto the edge over Red for me.
The reason I only gave it three stars is because part way through my meal a bat either got in the restaurant or woke up and decided it was time to fly around. Bats don't bother me at all, but trying to eat while avoiding a bat flying past my head isn't exactly what I call fun. The workers acted like it wasn't a big deal and offered nothing to the customers. Had I been afraid of bats and had to leave before finishing my meal I wonder what they would have done?
