| - I have zero experience with makeup and grooming, yet I still decided to give the Ulta salon a try when getting my pixie cut (a drastic change from my shoulder length hair). I'm so glad I made the choice to get my haircut there. I got my haircut by Rachel, and I have nothing but great things to say about her. I have gotten my hair cut short before, but I was still nervous nonetheless. Despite that, we picked up a great conversation about her tattoos and I finally started to relax. I was incredibly happy with my new haircut, and I wanted to know how my hair would look like with product in it. So Rachel demoed a product for me (at my request). She showed me how much to use and where I can find it.
I never felt my questions were stupid or silly and I honestly can't rave about how friendly the staff was. I asked for a (free) skin consultation and help to pick out a shade of foundation for my skin, and Yesenia was so eager to help me. She even taught me how to apply it.
I asked about their eyebrow services and Rachel directed me towards Ky at the benefit brow bar who could demo a product for me. He was just as outgoing, if not more. I pulled up a picture on my phone of the eyebrows I wanted and he pulled out a mirror for me so I could watch as he applied it. I was so happy with how he did them. I asked if they had any eyebrow services and he presented me a menu with what they offer.
My favorite thing about my first time there is that they didn't show me any products or services I didn't ask for. They didn't try to sell me things, helping me was their #1 priority. My only gripe is that I did have to wait a few minutes to get my brows done by Ky, and a few more for Yesenia to help me pick a shade of concealer. That was because they were in the middle of helping other customers, so I didn't mind just waiting and browsing the store until they were ready. Other than that, I'll definitely be going again to get my brows done, and maybe a few more things :)
