  • Who thought homemade bean dip with housemade chips could taste SOOO darn good??? Well, I didn't until my visit to Kaya. As many times as I've driven past this place, I can't believe last weekend was my first visit. We had reservations but it seemed like we arrived at a good time before it started to get jam packed, around noon. We were greeted at the door and arrived a little before our seating time but offered to be seated immediately and we agreed. We ordered the wings, bean dip (I know I mentioned this already :), paella and the fish tacos. I have NO complaints. Quite honestly, after the bean dip (3rd mention), my favorite was the salad that came with my fish tacos...so simple with a lime based dressing. OMGee! Okay, please don't think I didn't love everything else because I did. The fish tacos were amazingly good with perfectly cooked pieces of fish, jicama slaw and buttery pieces of fresh avocado slices. Seriously, each bite made me feel as though I was in the caribbean somewhere. (Maybe a bit dramatic, okay). My friend's entree was the paella, which was good, pieces of pineapple were really juicy throughout and shrimp cooked perfectly...although it was the least favorite for me because my husband's brother has me spoiled by the paella he makes on the grille :) All said and done, Kaya did not disappoint and actually exceeded my expectations. This restaurant is owned by Big Burrito Group and I've been very happy with all of their restaurants I've tried. Can't wait to visit Kaya again. My next trip will be on a Thursday. I hear the chicken is to die for... YUM!
