  • This review is nominally about the specific Fry's location, but it's more importantly about my main man Clifford, who is a giant among men. You see, we've been coming here for years, and their selection has never disappointed. Pretty much anything we need, we get here, and if we can't get it here then we go to Lee Lee. But for the most part, pretty much everything that we use on a day-to-day basis is here, with enough of a "fancy" selection to keep us creative in the kitchen. The store always seems clean, the staff is always friendly, and even when the Deli is a little slow they're always really nice about it. However... Last year we were browsing through the soda aisle, and this kindly gentlemen asked us if he could make a recommendation. We replied that he surely could, and he recommended the Kroger brand Cola with real sugar. We decided to give it a go, and you know what? In a blind taste test at the Casa, it was decided that it tasted just as good as our beloved Mexican coke. So props to that fellah. Fast forward to today, when we were browsing around. Now, at some point, I'd gotten it into my head that there was such a thing as pre-made polenta. We searched high and low, but alas, none was to be found. So we were wandering around a little and this kindly fellah (who seemed kinda familiar) asked us what we were looking for and if he might be able to help us. I told him that I *thought* there was such a thing as pre-made polenta, and he smiled that heartfelt smile of his and said "I know exactly what you're looking for". He walked us over to where it was... but it wasn't there. Not one to give up easily, our hero continued to another aisle, and then another one. Radioing a manager, he discovered the sad but bracing truth- the store didn't carry the premade polenta loaf anymore. Apologizing profusely, he asked what I was planning to make with it. And then, he proceeded to give me some genuinely good advice for it's preparation and flavoring. We had a nice little chat, and then my girlfriend and I went on our merry way. I asked her if it was the same individual who had recommended the cola to us, and she confirmed that it was indeed he. So, kudos to you, Clifford. You're not the only wonderful employee here- indeed, it's a rare visit when I *don't* walk away impressed at the friendliness- but you're definitely one of the best... a rare breed... an all-around great chap!
