  • Having lived near Little Saigon in Southern California has spoiled me rotten with super bomb, cheap, and authentic Vietnamese food. So it's almost unfair for me to compare the pho I had here (or anywhere else) to the ones I've had in Little Saigon. But regardless, it's pho, and I have high standards for one of my favorite dishes. I came here with a very large party - a family reunion/lunch before my cousins wedding. Everyone at my table ordered the same thing: pho with everything. During my visit, there were several large parties. This might explain why the soup base was not good whatsoever. The soup was full of MSG because I was extremely thirsty during my meal and went through several cups of water. It didn't have the authentic beefy flavor. The noodles was too soggy. Not used to soggy rice noodles. The only thing that was good was the meat. There was a variety and I enjoyed it! We also tried their spring rolls which were not bad! Pretty standard spring rolls. We also waited super long for them to bring out the food. Perhaps over an hour?! I suspect that since there were multiple large parties, they probably didn't prepare enough soup and meats. Hence, probably why it took so long. This might also explain why their soup did not taste good since good pho soup base takes more than half a day to make and days to make it even better. Their food might taste better on other days when they aren't super busy. If you plan to come with a large party (20+), be sure to let them know ahead of time! This might be the difference between MSG filled broth vs good, authentic broth. Since there aren't many Vietnamese cuisines around, I would say this is a good option to satisfy cravings and try out Vietnamese food.
