Brought the family to the Orpheum this Christmas season to see the Nutcracker.
As a venue, one visit made me fall in love with this place. The interior is incredible, with it's intricate, Spanish baroque style. Ultra ornate, I don't believe I have been in such a beautifully designed theatre before.
The Orpheum is, undoubtedly, breathtaking in it's own right. Constructed in 1927 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 while undergoing a 12 year restoration, the interior of the theatre is one-of-a-kind.
While our balcony seats were certainly not located in the most prime real estate, I found our view of the stage to be none the less quite good. Sound quality was good, lighting was good. Despite the large crowd, the bar service was quick and drinks were not unreasonably priced.
I look forward to seeing a concert here some day soon.
