| - They took our order, they charged my credit card, they confirmed that everything was set, and then they didn't make our wedding cake. Let me repeat that. THEY DIDN'T MAKE OUR WEDDING CAKE.
After our wedding ceremony we arrived at the restaurant where we had booked our reception dinner, and the manager informed us that the cake had not been delivered. He called Marius et Fanny to try to track it down, and they made up some story. They said that someone else had picked it up that morning, even though we had paid the delivery fee and arranged for it to be delivered to the restaurant.
But then, when we went to the patisserie ourselves a few days later to get our money back and find out what the heck happened, they told us that in fact, they had never even made our cake. No one else picked it up, that was a lie, it had just never existed. Despite our having ordered it in person at this shop, and spoken on the phone with the pastry chef about the decorations, and confirmed all the details, and paid...they never made our cake.
They offered no excuses. They said they would look into it and get back to us. They haven't.
If you are considering Marius et Fanny for a wedding or special event or catering, please heed our warning and run the other way! Or you may find yourselves like us, with nothing to offer your guests at the most important celebration of your lives.
