We REALLY wanted to love DownEast but I'm really disappointed with their service. We recently purchased a very expensive leather couch and another couch with chaise lounge. After purchasing the products we were told that one of the items was on backorder and we wouldn't get it delivered until November. I had gone into the store multiple times (4) to check on the status of the backorder and was told everything looked good and to plan on a mid- November delivery. I just went in to the store again today to purchase more items (rug and chair) and while I looked around I also asked for a quick backorder update. After about 15 minutes I was told that back on the day that we purchased the couch (2 months ago) the sales associate entered the order incorrectly and should've indicated it was a custom order. Because of the error we will not get the custom couch until January. Honestly I understand that mistakes happen but I really wish someone would've told us beforehand about the error and major delay especially with not having our furniture for the holidays. Communication and trust between sales and customers needs work.
