| - Maybe it's the Cinco de Mayo talking, or maybe it's because I can literally walk here from my house, but I love this place. I've been to Libre twice, once for Tacos and Tequila Tuesday, and once on Cinco de Mayo. Here is my experience:
Tacos y Tequila Tuesdays: $24 all you can drink tequila and all you can eat tacos. What? Yes. I do want to clear some things up though - the all you can drink tequila is just that - tequila shots. Not margaritas, not tequila cocktails, just straight tequila. It's good tequila - but you've been warned; it can turn into a BIG night fast. The tacos are delicious (I recommend the steak over the chicken), but I can't really eat more than 3 tacos, so the all you can eat doesn't appeal to me as much as it may to others. (Ok...that's a lie - I CAN eat more than 3, but I probably shouldn't.)
Cinco de Mayo: We walked right up and got a table on patio. OKAY!! (Lil John not included.) Granted, they told us we only had 90 minutes, but that worked for our timeline. We had the house guac and salsa, as well as the chicken fajitas - all were very tasty!
On to the cocktails: Sangria = a winner. If you've seen any other reviews of mine, you'll know that I love a good Sangria, but I HATE when Sangria is too heavy with juice. This Sangria was light, flavorful, and refreshing. EXCELLENT. Their cocktails are all well-balanced and fresh, nothing tasted overly sweet or overly tart - including Pepino Picante (my favorite - a cucumber marg with a hint of spice), the other spicy cocktail whose name I can't remember, and of course, the Margaritas.
Definitely check this place out - whether it's for Taco Tuesday or any other day of the week. It lives up to the hype. Lastly - THANK YOU Libre for bringing me Margaritas within stumbling distance of my place. :)
