| - This place stands out as a local joint with great atmosphere. The former Post Office has been converted into a bright, airy, and open-concept place without losing some of the original interest of the building. The counter is behind a row of old mailboxes. There is a brick chimney running through the structure, surely there to conduct heat up from the coal-fired furnace in the basement! The staff was friendly and competent during my visit. They offer food, but I just had a snack and a latte. The drink was served in china, and I was able to snag a second level sunny chair. If I lived in the area, this would for sure be a hang out for reading, knitting, discussing politics, and just drinking coffee. I often buy Illy beans to brew at home, and am a big fan of the flavor. It's so encouraging to see this rugged old town being revitalized. It's the antithesis of the chain coffee experience in a strip mall with a drive-thru. Just don't be fooled by the entrance, it really doesn't look like much from the outside, it still has that Post Office vibe from the street. But inside, it's very hip.
