| - I got a super deal on a Groupon for a shellac manicure, the first one I've ever gotten. After my experience, if it weren't not for the Groupon, I wouldn't have gone to this salon, and I won't be back.
The place wasn't dirty, per se, but could definitely use a lot of TLC and better lighting. I had my service with Angie, who was friendly, but her quirky nature was not very professional. I wasn't offended, but as a new client, I felt she could have tried hard to make a better impression, and not make goofy little humming noises, etc.
I mentioned I'd never had the service before and I thought she would have explained things, but she just got to work. Some of the products came out of half empty bottles, which I get not wanting to be wasteful, but shouldn't they have gone into individual use containers, like tattoo shops do with ink? Also some of the topical stuff had gunk around the neck of the bottle.
I chose a bright red glitter color and while I've gotten tons of compliments, I've already noticed bare spots and some peeling and dings starting to happen. Granted I work with my hands a lot, but I did expect better than after 2 days. I like getting the compliments but I don't really want to tell people the name of the shop, since I can't really recommend it. Next time I want to get my nails done, I'm going to MATC.
