  • I waited until my dog had been there twice before reviewing. I have NO IDEA how this place gets such amazing reviews. The two times I brought my dog, he came home and developed illness within 3 days (not having been anywhere else with other dogs except camp bow wow, no changes to diet, treats, or toys) First time he was there, I watched the webcam the whole time as I worked. I noticed the sitters in the play areas just sit there. In addition, the small dog play room had NO attendant for MUCH of the day my dog was there. NONE. He came home from that visit and developed a nasty upper respiratory infection. Second visit to try again: Again I watched the webcam all day as i worked at my desk. The attendant sat on the plastic play steps/bridge in the room - obviously makes it impossible for the little dogs to run across this only activity item in the room.... but the worst part was when she squirted my dog right square in the face/eyes with a squirt bottle for doing absolutely NOTHING. I understand the need for the bottle, to use as the Camp management says (to help break up any dogs who start to get too riled up, rough, aggressive etc) but my dog was simply standing on the plastic bridge next to the attendant to get attention from her! She has two dogs in her lap, and I saw her not once, but THREE TIMES squirt my little guy in the eyes/face at point blank range for just standing there!!!!??? He may have barked, im not sure... but even if he had, that reaction from her was UNCALLED FOR. I went to get him after seeing this occur multiple times. NO, i didnt complain in person, because nothing is going to change. I did however call the location and speak to the girl up front, who did explain why the bottles are used. when i told her what had occurred on camera, she said she would speak to the employee right away. Two days after getting my dog back home, again no changes to food, treats, exposure to other dogs etc, he has developed diarrhea to the point where i had to wake up to let him outside every 2 hours all night last night. OH did i mention that this place REEKS of urine?? The dogs eliminate on the concrete floors and it takes the employees forever to clean up the messes. The dogs walk through one another's urine. WATER - while they have small bowls of it, my dog returned home both times and went right to the water bowl and drank as if he hadnt had water in days. All the dogs do at camp bow wow is run and walk around aimlessly in the pen (at least in the small dog area). No one interacts with them. They are not encouraged to play. There is nothing to play with, and the employee sitting in the play area sits all day on the one prop that is for the DOGS to play on. Folks, if you drop your dog here, are you watching the webcams?? I suggest you do. You may return here to change your rating... We will NOT be back.
