| - I'm always on the lookout for new Mexican food places to try, so followed other Yelpers' advice and went to Las Casa de Juana. As others have mentioned, the lighting is pretty bright in some areas of the restaurant. So bright, you could almost count the chips in the baskets on other tables. While the atmosphere isn't cozy, it is playful. There's color everywhere from the picturesque painted chairs and tables, wall and ceiling decorations, to the attractive bright plaid cloth napkins.
The menu is extensive with some unusual dishes. Prices are reasonable. I give the food mixed reviews: chicken tamale good, fish taco skimpy, rice excellent, beans bland. Salsa was very good. Overall, a nice place to get some Mexican comfort food.
At 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night, there was live music. -- a nice, mellow guitarist/singer. This restaurant could easily accommodate a large group.
