Recently visited this store and was lucky enough to have worked with technician Zach. For unknown reasons a recent update caused a major snafu while being installed causing my (2011) Macbook Air to just freeze in an illuminated gray screen mode...(no displayed, dark gray Apple logo or progress bar...just an illuminated light gray screen.)
After running a diagnostic test the unit came back in good health standing, however needing an entirely new OS install. Though a bit time consuming and labor intensive in the sense that all settings, programs, etc. needed to be reset, this proved to be the only option. This entire process (and the numerous questions I presented Zack with while resetting the laptop) were handled by him in a very professional manner.
Zach was great at his job with both technical advice and customer service skills. "After surgery", I chose to hang out there in "intensive care" for several more hours while getting my lappy fully back up and running with some tinkering around with all the settings...Zach was right there when needed to answer all my questions. Hours after arriving, I can say I left the Scottsdale Apple Store Genius Bar a very happy camper, with a smooth running Macbook Air laptop once again.
I had visited this location about a half dozen times over the last five years and have always been impressed, leaving each time with my concerns or questions always professionally handled, and this visit was no different. I would definitely recommend both this Scottsdale Apple store and its Genius Bar services. (Much gratitude to Zach!! :)
