| - I've got to say, I was not impressed.
Although the casino floor is small, it is clean and nice. The dealers are very friendly. However, it took me a bit to learn to throw the dice on an extended craps table.
The pool is overcrowded, and built in a hole, so there is no breeze at all.
The rooms are old and outdated. Even though they claim to be renovated, they look nice. But the attention to details is what is seriously lacking. There is no circulation... so yes, the room cooled off... but the air was dank, stagnant, and reeked of mold. 2 sets of guests in our party had to change rooms because of the stench.
Although a Hilton Diamond member for years, you never would have known it. I maybe be a little elitist here, but every Embassy Suites, Hampton and Doubletree address me by name. We always get offered a water or snack at check in, but not here.
In most hotels, I'm very often approached by a manager to see how my stay is going. This ALWAYS happens when I, or someone in my party, has made a complaint or been inconvenienced. This did not happen either.
All in all, I would say this hotel is a fail. Not only should it be the "New Tropicana in Las Vegas", but it completely failed to meet most of the basic requirements of an ordinary Hilton.
2 Stars because I did win on the craps table a little!
