| - Update: Sadly my review has gone from 5 stars to two...and the only reason there's 2 stars at this point is because of how easy it was to schedule this move with Jim over the phone. Beyond that my second experience with this company was ridiculous. We used them back in May 2016 to move from a 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom apartment downtown. Our house wasn't even full as we had put a lot of stuff into storage because it wasn't going to all fit into the apartment we were staying in until we found a new house. As the first review says, guys showed up on time (they sent 2 guys based on what they thought we needed), and they worked quickly. We moved into a high rise apartment downtown, and they had to use a freight elevator to get our stuff up to the apartment. Whole process from start to finish took about 4 1/2 hours. We paid an $84 trip charge and then $84 an hour. We were super happy with our service. So, of course when we moved again this month (February 2017) into our new house, we called them again! I was excited to have another seamless move, especially after scheduling it over the phone. They still had all of our old information so it didn't take long at all and we set it up for the day I requested no problem. This time, though, we wanted to have the movers stop and grab our stuff out of storage on the way to our house...so Jim recommended we got a 3rd guy so that changed our rate to a $110 trip charge, $110/hour. Seemed fair since we were adding a stop and obviously more items would need to be moved than our first time. Guys showed up at 12:30pm. Finished at 6:30pm. They took so long that we didn't even have them stop at our storage unit. 6 hours for 3 guys to move the same stuff that 2 guys moved in 4/12 hours less than a year before. We paid extra to have them take longer and not even do the extra task that we specifically hired the 3rd guy for. Incredibly frustrating to begin with, and even more so now that as I'm getting my house together I'm finding things that are damaged. We won't be using them again.
Called another company that I had heard about many times while working in property management. Got a quote for almost $1,000 and they were closed on Sundays which is when I needed to move. So I decided to try a few more places - I had no idea what movers cost as we've never used one before. I messaged a bunch of companies here on Yelp, got a few messages back and Budget actually called me almost immediately. Extremely reasonable pricing. I made my deposit right away and set up my move for the upcoming weekend. Guys showed up on time, worked quick, took great care of our stuff. Paid less than half as much as what the other company quoted and still received great service. We were very happy with this company and will definitely use again and refer people.
