  • Got "Ultherapy" done here - bad idea. Ultherapy is advertised as a non-surgical procedure that will significantly tighten skin on the neck, brow, and under the chin. It's supposed to be like a less expensive, non-invasive mini face lift. Well either the therapy itself is scam, or the practitioner at North Valley Plastic Surgery performed it incorrectly. Either way, I had ZERO results and was out hundreds of dollars. Several attempts to resolve the issue resulted in a stalemate. They offered to "redo" the procedure but were unable to provide any medical explanation for why it had not worked, or any statistical likelihood based on actual data that it would work after a second treatment. In fact they said it is unlikely that it would work as "some people do not respond to the therapy." Logically then, if I am one of these mysterious people that do not respond (for reasons they are unable to explain), then certainly I will continue to not respond when re-treated. As mentioned, the solution they offered was to once again subject myself to this very painful procedure (yes - this procedure DOES hurt - it's not for the faint of heart), AGAIN have no results, and STILL be out the money. Brilliant. Keep in mind they were unable to produce any proof (and also failed to provide any valid statistics gathered from Ultherapy research) to substantiate 1) that there was a likelihood that a second treatment would produce results, or 2) that they had performed the procedure correctly the first time (or were capable of performing it properly the second time). After requesting hard data / proofs from them three times, when nothing was provided, I lost faith in the North Valley Plastic Surgery group. As mentioned, the jury is still out as to whether Ultherapy itself is a scam, but I can say with assurance that this is NOT the place to experiment with it. I should mention - another option they gave me in my efforts to recover my losses was that they would allow me to use the money I had spent toward a procedure - something surgical - using one of their affiliated plastic surgeons. Sounds like a good thing until you consider what is really being offered. They are trying to sign you up for surgery... AND you would get stuck with one of the few docs on their short list. Folks you should NEVER select a surgeon because there's a discount on his services. Or allow yourself to get railroaded into a surgical procedure because you don't want to say goodbye to your hard-earned money. In the end I had to walk away from North Valley Plastic Surgery; they kept my cash and I got nothing. Hope this report helps someone who is thinking about making an appointment. Basically I got robbed - stay away from this very shady operation.
