| - This was my first time staying Downtown and the Golden Nugget was a solid choice. The casino is large and easy enough to navigate. My issues here were minimal; I understand that you can charge more for the nicer towers (Rush and Gold) but at least maintain Carson just as well, even if you don't update. Our room was nice enough, but showing signs of neglect and wear. Not gross by any means... just a little shoddy. After our first night, we didn't even get housekeeping service. An oversight, I'm sure, and nothing to throw a fit about. We were just a bit puzzled and thought maybe it was a hotel policy... no daily service if you are staying multiple days? I don't know, but then the room was cleaned up each day after that. Anyway, they have the best pool downtown and several restaurant options onsite. I would stay here again. BTW, the Wi-Fi is built into the daily resort fee ($22.60 per day w/ tax), but it's only for 2 devices. You are also supposed to get 2 bottles of water in your room that resort fee covers, but I drank one of mine and never got more, so.... maybe not?
