  • This is a strange and wonderful place, as far as shopping centers go. Certainly the concept of having a pedestrian-friendly outdoor shopping center isn't new, but there's something about Tivoli Village that makes it unique: perhaps the look of the place, the unique collection of restaurants and shops, or maybe a combination of all of these. I'll do my best to capture it, but I think you'll have to just go and see for yourself. The shops. Phase 1 of Tivoli Village has been complete for a while. There was some initial upheaval as a few businesses opened and then closed a short time later, but overall, the initial shopping area has been a success. Construction on Phase 2 began a while ago, then paused, apparently for the same builder to wrap up some other projects, and how had returned with a vengeance. Phase 2 looks includes three additional buildings sitting just to the north of the completed Phase 1. The divider between the two is a kids park and play area and once complete, it doesn't look like there'll be a division for pedestrians. You'll just walk back and forth between the existing and new areas. I've been told there is also a third phase planned, which will be located straight south of the current complex, across Alta Drive and immediately north of the Boca Park shopping center. Some favorite restaurants include Echo and Rig (Butcher and Steakhouse), Made LV (an eatery brought to you by the same awesome chefs who own Honey Salt at the intersection of Charleston Blvd and Rampart, and the Andiron Steakhouse in Downtown Summerlin), Leone's Cafe for coffee or lunch (great outdoor seating!), and Kabuki for noodles. One of the very few chain restaurants there is Brio, but most everything else is fairly unique. There's so much more than these I've mentioned, so bring your appetite and explore. We also love the kids play area. While it's a nice version of the common, well-kept and clean playground, Tivoli Village has also hosts free movie nights there, and Santa's annual appearance is top notch. I know folks have their favorite places to visit Santa, but this guy is incredible. If you're searching for a place to bring the kids to meet Santa, please be sure to check him out. Super professional, totally believable and very convenient if you live on the westside. Why not make an evening of it? A few more honorable mentions: there's also a crepes place, a bakery, several fine shops and even a nicer toy store. There are a couple gyms including David Barton, and La Casa Cigars and Lounge. (Yep, I just mentioned a fitness joint and a smoking lounge in the same sentence.) There's more there that I still need to try than the businesses I've already checked out. No problem, I'm happy to return again and again. The parking is underground and free, with access from Rampart or Alta. There's some limited parking on the surface streets and to the east of the complex, but in the summer take full advantage of the underground to keep your car cool. There's also a valet option and it's always cool in the evening to see some of the high-end cars parked in one of the circles on the surface. Finally, you can also have your car washed while you shop. Nice touch! Grab your friends or family and check Tivoli Village out. And get ready for more awesomeness when the new section opens, hopefully soon!
