Went in to have my Tag Heuer automatic serviced - it had been a few years since purchase and it was losing about a minute every few days. They put it on their analysis machine and after about 10 seconds said it was a disaster - saying it was so bad their machine couldn't even get readings. As they looked at it they also claimed there was hair in the mechanism (this watch had never been opened) and said the repair could be as little as $200, but likely more. I agreed to pay an hourly rate for a full estimate. When they called with the estimate, it had gone up to almost $600 for the overhaul. They were very aggressive about my agreeing to the repair, but I was dubious. I paid them for the estimate and took the watch back. I sent it in to Tag Heuer directly, and the overhaul was done for $340 including shipping. I'm deeply suspicious as a result, and would be highly unlikely to use their services.
