  • I was shopping for a new salon after my favorite tech for over a year left my old salon and I wasn't finding anyone I liked; that, and the overall quality of my old salon was dropping fast. Not only did I find rave reviews about this salon but also learned about the SNS nail system, which I'm absolutely thrilled with. I was late for my appointment but was still treated like a queen by everyone, including a welcome bottle of water from the sweet owner's daughter, whose gentle voice I could listen to all day. The salon is clean, professionally decorated, and plays smooth jazz in the background, much more soothing than the latest pop music, but maybe I'm getting old. ;) One reason I was shopping for a new salon was because the last tech filed so much of my natural nail from the nail plate that I was afraid I'd start bleeding, so now they're SUPER thin, like frighteningly. My tech at Pearl was so gentle and took her time removing the gel instead of scraping it off with a chisel or filing it with a strong grit file, what a relief to my overly abused nail plates! I had four hundred different colors to choose from, but I quickly picked one I liked, Fiesta Cabana, and she saved my shredded and broken nails. The SNS system takes no UV light, another plus because the last tech had my hands under the (off-brand) light too long and the skin on my hands stung for a week. I've had my SNS nails now for three days and they're rock-hard, even more than traditional gel. I'll be checking in again as I learn about these new nails but, so far, I'm totally sold and Pearl is my new salon.
