| - I have been around a while. I can recall riding my bike as a five year old alone. In the big city. I watched Catfish Hunter pitch for the Oakland A's. Against Say Hey Willie Mays and the San Francisco Giants in Candlestick Park , in an exhibition game! I remember standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and putting my hand over my heart, then saying the words and meaning it. I was proud to be an American then,
I am proud to be one now!!!
Back then I used to go to a Walgreen's on Scott Street, I only lived halfway down the block. One of the cashier's used to babysit me.Her name was Patty. Sometimes they would sell me candy and gum, sometimes they would just give the neighborhood kid a break. I loved that part of my life more than most of the others.
After having served in the Army I moved to Los Angeles, Ca. I can recall a 24 hour Walgreen's Drug Store in Koreatown. Of course they don't sell beer after 2 a.m. due to California Law. I suppose it would have been nice to buy a beer whenever it suited me.
Having just recently moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. Having the expectation of being able to buy intoxicating beverages 24 hours a day. I was extremely let down when I found out this Walgreen's on Blue Diamond closes for the night. I was disturbed by Yelp, taking down my content on my previous post about this very store also. I said, " it sucks not being able to buy beer on foot in Las Vegas." Especially this close to Independence Day (July 4th)
All I can say is, God Bless America and thank God for The Constitution that grants us these Freedom's!!
