Industry is a great spot in Lawrenceville. I like the location and atmosphere. I have been there when it's super crowded and now choose to come in more of the off hours or make sure to get a reservation.
Last night I met up with some friends for some drinks later in the evening when a friend arrived in from out of town.
The bartenders and drinks were great. Started with some beer and then decided since it was our friend's first time in Pittsburgh that we had to get the whiskey smoked. He was absolutely enthralled with the presentation. I highly recommend doing this at least once, just for the experience. So Industry nailed it on the drinks.
My disappointment came with the bar food. At this point in the evening I realized I had not had food since lunch and the bartender recommended the tomato mozzarella flat bread. I am not sure if the kitchen staff was just careless at that point in the evening at around 10 pm or if no one bothered to check the flat bread but it was burnt. The kitchen serves until midnight so I am not sure why this happened, but instead of making a big deal about it and having to wait another 20 min for a new one I ate the center pieces that were not hard or burnt. This hasn't been my experience before and the last time I had their food it was pretty solid to pair with the great drinks. Therefore, I am optimistic this was a one time thing and plan to not take Industry Public House off my Lawrenceville restaurant rotation.
