| - I will start this review by saying that I have naturally ashy brown hair, and I wanted it to be "summer lightened". So 6 months ago I asked the owner of a salon at college (who had great blonde hair) to make it happen for me... I warned her that my hair was brand new and had never been touched basically. She gave me bleach blonde, almost blue, highlights that weren't to the root. So, as a '99 version of Christina Aguilera, I scrambled to the next salon an hour later to have it fixed. They did the highlights to the root and then added a toner. I graduated college looking like a penny colored copper head. It was great to see the look on my mom and dads faces.
Since then, I've been struggling to correct my hair to what I wanted, and most stylists give be these terrible highlights that look yellow under fluorescent lighting. So I asked a few coworkers in Cleveland about good color places, and a girlfriend recommended color nation. She said to schedule with Joanne, the owner, who is amazing and can do whatever you want. I yelped, and saw great reviews on Kristy, especially working with blondes. So I called ( same day) and Kristy had a cancellation and got me in within an hour! She spent a good 15 minutes with me just hearing my crazy stupid bad hair story, and then looking at pictures, and weighing the options with me. I mean, if there's someone more anal about their hair color, I'd like to meet them. Bless her heart for doing my hair.
It took about 2.5 hours total to get things done right so that I could just grow my locks out and fade back to my natural color. We added lowlights darker at the roots, and did a shine treatment. And a cut. And a style. So she nailed the color, it wasn't drastic and even my boyfriend couldn't tell a difference. WHICH WAS AWESOME, exactly what I wanted!! She was just the kindest, and really a good conversation/brain to pick... I didn't feel like I was trying to small talk at all like I do at many hair salons. Also, Yelp offers 50% Off color services if you check in with Yelp. Oh, and the place was really cute! Open, friendly, not gaudy heist mad music or decorations, just the right amount of subtle holiday spirit and friendly company.
Have at it ladies and gents! This place is great. Wonderful experience, and thank you Kristy!
