| - Booked our appointment for a Thursday @ 3:00pm. Decor is clean and simple. It isn't a fancy place judging from the storefront or interior, although I liked the silverware that they presented their foods/tea in. Free wi-fi is available.
Food/Tea - 3.75/5
There is a large selection of teas available to choose from, and you can smell each one before you pick. You can also read up about the teas on a tablet provided. I chose the Bingo Blueberry, my partner the Earl Grey. My tea was aboslutely splendid. The owner warned about it being a bit tart, which was perfect for me. My partner wanted a tea where she could add milk to it, but the owner seemed hesitant to recommend any. She said the safest choice would be Earl Grey which is what she got. Our afternoon tea set was still the Easter theme. Included were 2 scones (butter and earl grey), garlic, cheese and mushroom stuffed bread, mini garlic bread grilled cheese sandwich, and tuna sandwich. The desserts included were matcha cheesecake, lychee jasmine jelly, and earl grey mousse in a chocolate cup. The earl grey scone was good; there were infused tea leaves in the scone, so you can really taste it. the stuffed bread was the highlight of the foods as it was very flavourful and cheesy! the grilled cheese was just okay; my partner felt they could have used better cheese. The tuna sandwich was good although I wished they would serve it on a mini baguette instead of just regular bread. The matcha "cheesecake" was not cheesy at all and didnt really seem like a cake... It was closer to mousse. My partner LOVED the earl grey mousse, and I LOVED the lychee jasmine jelly. It was light, but had a strong jasmine flavour which was refreshing.
Service - 5/5
Service was prompt, although we did sit right in front of the counter. We would literally only need to turn our heads if we needed something. Waitress checked on us a few times to see if we needed water refills for our tea and the owner gave a brief description of the foods and recommendations on the order to eat them in. Great service.
Value - 4/5
I felt like I got what I paid for. There are obviously fancier places which would also be more expensive. I think it was priced correctly. All in all, I enjoyed the experience. My cup of tea is a nice place to relax and enjoy some tea and desserts.
