Had surgery here - the surgeon was amazing and he'll get reviewed separately.
I woke up on life support and the nurse (male) had just taken my gown off (I'm female) - leaving me laying there uncovered for everyone to see. I was on support so had no way of talking and I was also restrained (as most on life support are) for my own safety. I wrote on a piece of paper and asked my husband to stay overnight with me from then on. Thankfully I have a great husband who stayed to protect me.
From that point on, I felt like a chore .. something that had to be taken care of, not a human with feelings. I was able to talk a few days later .. just about the time the nurse dropped me to the floor. I had told her I needed to use the toilet and as I was standing up, she grabbed my gown which threw me off balance and I fell and fractured my wrist. They blamed me and refused to show me the report due to patient confidentiality. I'm the patient!! The report is about me! It's in my chart!! But they refused to show me the report.
I finally insisted that I be released. I felt like my health and well being were more at risk here than if I was at home healing and taking care of myself. They released me. I hope to never be a patient here again.
The toilet was just in the corner of the room I was in. There was no privacy! A toilet, no walls, no partition .. just a toilet in the corner. I guess it's good it wasn't a hole in the floor?
