  • I love Green Grotto, but this location totally let me down. The drinks took a long time to come (though I could see it right on the counter!), the tapioca pearls were super soft (unlike the pearls that have always been consistently "chewy" at the other two locations), and one friend's drink order was just messed up. She had ordered a cold drink with some tapioca pearls, and in the end got a hot drink, which when they fixed it, had no tapioca! The waitress remembered this when she brought the new drink over, but since the place seemed super busy and my friend didn't want to wait any longer, she said to the waitress to not worry about it. And of course, when we get the bill, she gets charged for the pearls anyway...the waitress didn't seem particularly happy when we pointed this out. My other friend's hot drink with pearls also barely had any pearls (which can be hard to see because you get it in an opaque mug). The only one drink they didn't really mess up was mine, which was a simple green tea + mixed pearls. It had a nice strong "tea" taste, which is why I love going to Green Grotto in the first place. This was just a Thursday night and granted it was a bit full, but for things to take so long and not even be right for the most part is pretty sad. Overall verdict - if location is not an issue, go to the Green Grotto at Warden & Steeles or the one on Highway 7. Go For Tea is also a decent option.
