| - I really loved this aquarium, for the following reasons:
+ The building itself. I dig that whole industrial, old-crumbling-factory vibe, and how they worked that into being a sweet aquarium.
+ The layout of the displays. Instead of having a bunch of tanks along every wall, there are tons of smaller tanks that you can go all the way around. this way, you can actually get to SEE all of the fish, and you aren't stuck waiting behind ten people who are trying to see the same fish you are trying to see. The round tanks definitely help the flow of the aquarium.
+ THE OCTOPUS. So, this aquarium has a badass Giant Pacific Octopus. This kind of octopus can kill sharks, y'all. It's awesome, and you can get right up close to it.
+ Speaking of sharks, the shark tank is one of the coolest aquarium exhibits I have experienced. It's a huge tank with a variety of fish, but the stars of the show are the large sharks swimming around. I saw probably seven or eight sharks (this is an estimate, as I'm not fantastic at differentiating sharks and it was a huge tank). One had a little fish friend that swam around underneath him; we called them George and Lennie.
I can see where it would definitely be a little spendy if you have a larger family. A lot of places like this often have ways you can get deals on tickets, and if you can, I would definitely recommend going--you can tell a lot of care was put into the displays and the sharks alone are worth the price of admission if you're into that sort of thing.
