After hearing about all the good reviews and multiple locations throughout Toronto, I had pretty high hopes for Nadège.
Walking in, you're greeted with a beautiful array of pastries and cakes as well as an equally lovely dining area.
Despite that, I personally found that the pastries looked far better than they tasted. My friend and I ordered the Eclipse cake and Marie Antoinette tart. Maybe I'm just used to strong flavours, but I found the blood orange flavour to be quite lacking in the Eclipse cake. It wasn't until we were multiple spoonfuls in that we could taste a hint of the orange flavour.
The Marie Antoinette tart is adorable but tastewise, is pretty similar to any other pastry I've had before.
So is it worth it? Factoring in the ~$10 per cake (incl. tax + tip) and gorgeous presentation, it seems promising but IMHO tastes about the same as any other cake.
