  • First and foremost, my review is in regards to purchasing a vehicle, not service. After reading through the negative reviews, in my opinion, it always boils down to the person that is helping you. Some people take pride in their jobs, while some people don't. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, this was the most pleasant dealership experience that my husband and I have experienced, and it is our 3rd vehicle purchase in the 10 years we've lived together, and it was our first time at Chapman. At the beginning of August my hubby and I started talking about trading in our Nissan Vera due to the fact that we have a Land Rover that we own outright, that is getting up there in age & mileage. Being that we didn't want two car notes, we decided to keep the Land Rover, which we own outright, and trade in the Nissan. Because the needs of our household call for a SUV type vehicle, we decided that a Jeep would best suite our needs. This decision was based on the mpg vs. the base price of the vehicle. Not because of the name brand. As I stated, I already have a gas guzzling pig. Upon research, I decided that the Jeep Patriot would be perfect. Not too big, not too small, & great gas mileage. I submitted an online request to receive more information about the vehicle that I was interested in and was contacted by TJ. I just want to note that while I don't work at or for a dealer ship, I am in the automotive industry, so the b.s. wasn't going to fly with me. I'm aware of the tricks of trade I guess you could say. When I spoke with TJ, I let him know what we were interested in, let him now that we would be trading in our Nissan, and let him know that I Have no intensions of putting any money down. I also let him know that I was not going to come down to the dealership if he did not this that this was going to be possible because I didn't want him to waste my time, and I didn't want to waste his. Unlike the other negative reviews on here, I made sure to do my due diligence before I went down, including submitting the credit application to see if we could come to a deal. Now, I know that during the week that I was talking to TJ, he could have been blowing smoke up my a$$, but I felt good about our communications. By Friday we made an appointment for Saturday. To make an already long story short, TJ was very VERY personable and attentive. We had already worked out that financing would not be an issue because our credit wasn't an issue. At the end of the day, my hubby and I left with a 2013 Patriot Latitude, with all of the features that I wanted in a new car, for the exact terms that set for at the beginning of communicating with TJ. Aka, no money down (even though we were upside down in what we owed on the Nissan), and a KILLER interest rate, and top notch service from every person that we had dealt with. Not once did we feel pressured, or belittled by our sales person, or by the finance person. I guess the point of my review is to show that it's all about who you get as a sales person. Is it someone that is going to do their job with pride, or someone that doesn't care whether they sell anything. I have to note that there were plenty of sharks on the lot, that once they found out we were already teamed up a sales rep, wouldn't give us the time of day, which would really be my only negative thought about my experience there... I guess we just got lucky by getting TJ right from the word go. Oh, and I love my Jeep by the way. It's freaking AWESOME!!!!!
