Walked in and left before being served. Rude man behind the bar with zero people skills ruined my first experience here. I was immediately intrigued upon stumbling onto this little place near my home It has a cool look reminding of the little bars along the beach strands of Cali. I was excited and told the guy behind the bar it was my first time. All the drinks were $9 or more with no happy hour specials as"distilleries do not have happy hours" per Josh the not so helpful barkeep. I asked for something on tap. He gave me disapproving look while telling me they have nothing on tap as they do not brew beer (he had so much attitude I asked him if he was owner as surely only an owner would risk alienate a first time customer without risk of repercussion).
I asked where are your drinks listed? What do you serve? He told me they are a distillery and serve spirits only. When I asked him if he would like to tell me the difference between a distillery and brewery he told me "no, I am good" I pointed out that the board stated he would be more than happy to answer my questions. He shrugged his shoulders. Ugh! I know the difference. I really asked to see if perhaps I could change his demeanor by allowing him to open a line of communication.
I told him that I didnt appreciate the dose of attitude he was serving up and that I would not be ordering as he left a bad taste in my mouth.
To bad! If you are the owner check your employee time sheet and have talk with this employee as he has failed you as proper representation of your business. Unless you were going for rude, crude, and disinterested as the look for your place.
Remember first impressions can make or break a business.
We are now sitting happily on a bar stool at Coops on 84th ave and Peoria just .3 miles away. It is not as refined but they DO have happy hour and the staff is FRIENDLY.
