  • My boyfriend and I did the whiskey tasting and tour and it was awesome. What a great date idea! (If I say so myself ;) The people at Wigle are welcoming and knowledgable. We started off with a cocktail that was refreshing and delicious. The tour was about to start when we got there, so we actually ordered the cocktail, joined the tour, and then the mixologist came and brought our drinks to us! The tour was quite educational -- a mix of history and technical knowledge regarding the whiskey making process. We got to try the rye that is the base ingredient for their whiskey, which was surprisingly tasty! I think hearing about their process and how they source their ingredients really gave me a greater appreciation for Wigle Whiskey. After the tour, we had a whiskey tasting where they explained the best way to taste whiskey. (I had no idea breathing through my mouth and nose to smell the whiskey would be so much richer an experience than how I previously smelled drinks.) If you like whiskey, I highly recommend visiting Wigle's distillery. This place is a Pittsburgh gem!
