| - In short, major difference versus Mandalay Bay: Closer to parking garage, partition walls with extra bathroom and extra TV, no smoking due to no gaming, and a better workout area.
Yes, they build the Delano next to Mandalay Bay for those who likes to not smoke and be closer to the garage. Good for those who doesn't like to inhale but I do have to say it is a bit far for us when going to the pool, unlike Mandalay Bay which is next to the elevators.
The mini suites (725 sq. feet) here are nice with two 46" TVs., a small wet bar (which water costs $5), and small office table. If you like more room to move around and the partition, by all means, take the Delano. But if you like to have more bathroom space with more updated bathtub and shower, take Madalay Bay. (550 sq. feet)
The workout room is located on level 2. Unlike Mandalay Bay, it's not 24 hours and it starts at 6am. It does get crazy crowded. Not that you'll need it but there's a shower that's connected to the Spa next door. There's no TVs here on the walls, so only hardcore workout people are here. It's a better gym than Mandalay Bay for sure. If you have a sharp nose like me, it smells like eucalyptus and sweat here.
Just wanted to Thank Teresa, one of the hostess for the complimentary upgrade. I think the person next to me got an upgrade as well but he politely declined. I wanna say I received his room and the reason being is the convention that was going on at the same time that day which they closed to pool due to the convention at 6pm. I was kind of glad because they had a concert that same night and I'm super sensitive to noise. Great experience staying here, if it wasn't' for the kids, I would totally stay here as an option.
Oh, I just wanted to mention that housekeeping didn't seem to do that well of a job (no replacement of shampoo/conditioner) and still found crumbs on carpet the 2nd day we were here. Hence the 4 stars.
